The F06 BMW M6 Gran Coupe is one of those cars that pretty much combines the best of three worlds: styling, performance, and luxury. Those three characteristics are what G-Power was able to improve upon in their newest upgrade program that sees output grow to an overwhelming 740 horsepower and a high-tech interior package entertain rear passengers of the four-door coupe.
Right away, the F06 BMW M6 Gran Coupe by G-Power is more thrilling thanks to its potent, tuned 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged, V-8 engine. The G-Power team created a new Bi-Tronik 5 tuning module that was developed through years of experience in supercharging and turbocharging BMW models. The ASA supercharger systems the German tuner has been installing on naturally-aspirated BMWs are also closely related to the turbocharger units found on the factory BMW engines as well. The G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 ECU includes a micro-processor patched prior to the factory ECU and retains the stock diagnostic and protection programs. The Bi-Tronik 5 alters the ignition timing and fuel delivery depending on the boost pressure to create more power. The tune, along with the new exhaust system that includes catalytic converter replacement pipes, G-Power titanium link pipes with resonators, and 100 mm Titanium or Carbon tailpipes help to save 26.5 lbs. of weight and generously boost power. In all, output grows to a whopping 740 horsepower and 719 lb-ft. of torque. The G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 V4 system pushes output to 710 horsepower and 656 lb-ft. of torque by itself.
All that power is good enough to send the sleek four-door coupe to 124 mph in just 10.5 seconds and to a top speed that eclipses the 186 mph-mark.
With such an incredible increase in power, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe had to have a few extra goodies added to the chassis in order to compensate. The G-Power team installed their 21-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels with a five double-spoke design to create a wider footprint. New, grippy Michelin tires do the dirty work and measure 255/30 ZR21 and 295/25 ZR21 for better traction. Behind those wheels sit either the G-Power Braking System with its six-piston, 420 mm front discs or G-Power Ceramic Braking System with its lightweight, fade-free stopping power. A new G-Power GM6-RS coilover suspension setup also offers drivers nine different bound and rebound settings for greater handling dynamics than stock.
Inside is where the high-performance technology nuts will have quite a bit of fun. An ergonomically-designed sports steering wheel and G-Power gauges stare at the driver while carbon-leather adorns the cabin. All of the factory plastic components were replaced with soft leather or alcantara while illuminated G-Power logos shine throughout the interior. The rear seat passengers benefit from a multimedia entertainment system with iPads in the rear of the front seats and a lowering main monitor with iMac including Apple TV. A new, powerful audio system helps to provide the complete entertainment package alongside the new gadgetry.
All of the new upgrades featured on the F06 BMW M6 Gran Coupe are available from G-Power as a complete package or as individual accessories. Pricing for the components has not been released.
