Inching closer to an M2.

We’re anxiously awaiting the unveiling of the BMW M2 just like the rest of the automotive world. Unfortunately, the car won’t be hitting the streets until next year. However, the BMW M235i is more than capable of satisfying our need for speed, and the special Track Edition in the Netherlands does even more. One of the limited edition BMW M235i Track Edition cars went over to Baan Velgen for some new HRE Wheels and H&R springs for an even more entertaining driving experience.

The BMW M235i Track Edition was limited to just a dozen cars in the Netherlands and has a bunch of unique features in Mineral Weiss, Mineral Grey, Estoril Blue, or Sapphire Black paints. The 12 sports cars came with a new black radiator grille; body kit with front splitter, side skirts, spoiler, and rear diffuser; special interior features ranging from a race display to serial-numbered dashboard plaque; but no changes to the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder making 322 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque.

The customer’s Mineral Grey M235i was brought in to get the exclusive touch from Baan Velgen. They started off by removing the M Performance 19-inch wheels that came from the factory and adding on a set of 19-inch HRE FlowForm FF15 wheels. The monoblock wheels offer a low overall weight to add to the overall performance of the M235i and wear a dark Tarmac Black finish that matches many of the upgrades that are unique to the Track Edition variant.

To go along with the new set of HRE Wheels, Baan Velgen added on a set of H&R springs and tinted the windows a darker shade of black. The ride height was dropped a few millimeters with the H&R lowering springs to eliminate fender gap and optimize the M235i Track Edition’s center of gravity.

While no changes were made to the turbocharged inline-six, this Mineral Grey BMW M235i Track Edition is more than capable of putting a big grin on any driver’s face.
