Dubai is a place of wealth, sticking out of the desert like a jewel. Here, prosperity and prestige are the norm, and companies like Brabus has established a strong presence to make customers’ wildest, most opulent dreams come true. The new Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition is based on the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, however the already high-end luxury sedan is taken to a whole new level of excessiveness.

The twin-turbocharged V-12 engine sitting under the hood of the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition was extensively modified in the company’s engine shop. The displacement grew to a mighty 6.3 liters (384 cu. In.) thanks to a new billet crankshaft with longer stroke, larger cylinder bore, forged pistons, and precision-balanced custom billet connecting rods. The two factory turbochargers were replaced with new units sporting a larger compressor, turbine, and modified manifolds. Two 80-mm downpipes connect to the valve-controlled Brabus high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalytic converters, ending in gloss black-painted tips.

The Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition also features an improved air intake module that draws air through a duct from the radiator grille. A new air filter box with special filters connects to piping with extravagant gold heat reflection sheathing to keep temperature to a minimum. After a full ECU software tune, the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition produces 900 horsepower (887 bhp) at 5,500 RPM and 1,106 lb-ft. of torque at 4,200 RPM, which had to be electronically-limited to 884 lb-ft. of torque for reliability.

All of that power is pumping through the seven-speed automatic gearbox modified by Brabus and working in conjunction with the new in-house limited-slip differential with 40-percent locking rate for better traction. This allows the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition to reach 62 mph from rest in just 3.7 seconds and hit 124 mph in 9.1 seconds. Top speed is in excess of 217 mph.

While the engine is easily a highlight of the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition, the exterior is what will turn heads – even in a place such as Dubai. A custom Desert Gold paint adorns much of the exterior along with 300 parts inside of the ultra-luxury sedan. Carbon fiber aerodynamics, high-gloss black body work and wheels provide the contrast. The entire aerodynamic package was designed to allow the Brabus 900 Rocket Desert Gold Edition to feel planted and tight at triple-digit speeds.

The carbon fiber aerodynamic kit starts up front with the new front spoiler lip and bumper attachments. New Brabus elements on the front fenders illuminate via the keyless remote or door handles at night while carbon covers are worn by the mirrors. At the rear, the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition utilizes a carbon fiber spoiler lip and diffuser to generate downforce.

Beneath that Desert Gold painted body work sits a set of Brabus Monoblock F Platinum Edition forged wheels with a unique cross-spoke design. The gloss black-finished wheels measure 9.0J x 21 up front and 10.5J x 21 at the rear with Continental, Pirelli, or Yokohama 255/35 ZR21 and 295/30 ZR21 high-performance tires. The final touch is a Brabus Airmatic Sport control module for the air suspension that reduces the ridge height by 15 mm.

Inside, drivers and passengers are treated to the lavish lap of luxury. The entire cabin is upholstered in soft black and gold Mastik leather with each of the head rests embroidered with the ‘900’ logo. Gold-colored seams, piping, and stitching match the wire array of Desert Gold painted elements. Even the headliner is upholstered in deep black alcantara. As an option, the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold can be upgraded with a new high-tech multimedia system.

The new Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition will make its global debut at the Dubai International Motor Show 2015 and be available to a very wealthy customer base.
