G-Power’s 230 mph M6 Hurricane RR Exposed

The world’s fastest four-seat coupé.

In 2008 G-Power GmbH unveiled the M5 Hurricane RS, a 750-horsepower twin-supercharged V-10 powered monster that set the record for the “world’s fastest saloon car” by reaching a top speed of 228.29 mph. This time, G-Power is back to claim the record for the “world’s fastest four-seat coupé with their newest twin-supercharged nightmare, the M6 Hurricane RR.

The same V-10 that powered the M5 powers the stock M6 coupé, making 500 naturally-aspirated horsepower. To transform the M6 into a top-speed record breaker, G-Power used a similar twin-supercharger system to the M5 Hurricane RS that now makes 800 horsepower instead of the previous 750. The system underwent further development to extract even more power from the 5.0-liter V-10. Two ASA T1-316 radial superchargers compress air which is then cooled by the characteristic G-Power BMW bright orange dual-flow, water-cooled charge air cooler system. In order to handle the immense amount of power numerous engine internals had to be replaced with stronger components. New Mahle high-performance forged pistons with lower compression and increased stiffness were fitted along with stronger con rods and piston pins. To ensure all components work in harmony, the engine electronics were remapped to produce a peak output of 800 horsepower between 7,500 and 8,000 RPM, and 590 lb-ft. of torque at 5,000 RPM.

Packed with high-speed aspirations, G-Power created a complete aerodynamic kit for the M6 Hurricane RR to ensure stability. Downforce is created at high speeds at the front and rear by a carbon fiber front skirt and larger rear spoiler, keeping the M6 planted to the pavement.

Also contributing to increased stability and poise are new G-Power wheels and an adjustable suspension. Wide G-Power Silverstone Clubsport forged wheels measuring 9 x 20 up front and 10.5 x 20 at the rear surprisingly do not increase weight despite boasting larger dimensions than the stock wheels. New 255/30 ZR20 front and 285/30 ZR20 rear high-performance tires further increase grip for the M6 Hurricane RR. Lowering the center of gravity is a new coil-over sports suspension that provides nine-way adjustable compression, rebound, and height for the optimum set up. The almost two-ton bullet is able to easily come to a complete stop due to the G-Power high-performance braking system.

The interior of the M6 Hurricane RR is built for speed. The stock speedometer has been replaced with a unit that measures up to 400 km/h, while an ergonomically-designed Sports steering wheel covered in soft Kierba Nappa leather faces the driver. Carbon fiber paneling covers the dashboard, center console, and door trim, hinting at the power that lies underneath the hood.

So what do all of the performance upgrades result in? How about the world’s fastest four-seat coupé, as the M6 Hurricane RR was able to achieve a speed of 231.15 mph. The incredible top speed is not the only impressive performance aspect of the M6 Hurricane RR. The coupé is also able to reach 62 mph in just 4.35 seconds, 124 mph in 9.5 seconds, and hit 186 mph in just 24.9 seconds.

The G-Power M6 Hurricane RR is currently available for € 252,100.84 (+/- 343,300 USD). The 750-horsepower G-Power SK III RS bi-supercharger conversion is currently available for the M5 and M6 for € 56,000 (+/- 76,200 USD).
