Dodge is celebrating the 25th anniversary and final year of Vipe

All of your favorites get the sendoff.

The Dodge Viper was first released in 1991 and its raw power and extreme performance instantly made it an American to be reckoned with. Its production run saw it win numerous races, set track records, and become an icon of the red, white, and blue. Although production is coming to an end, Dodge is sending off the super car with five limited edition models to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

“The Dodge Viper has had a great run, and 25 years after it was first introduced, it leaves the supercar world reaching for the records it continues to set,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat – FCA, North America. “With more track records than any production car in the world, the Dodge Viper ACR will live on as the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever, the car that has set the benchmark for all that follows in its tracks.”

Each model takes after an iconic model variant that was available throughout the production run of the Viper from the ‘90s to the ‘00s, each with their own unique design but all coming with the potent 8.4-liter V-10 with 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft. of torque.

Dodge will offer a limited run of as many as 28 units of the Viper 1:28 Edition ACR that celebrates the 1:28.65 lap time set by Randy Pobst at Laguna Seca Raceway in the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR. The super car wears a black exterior with painted wing spoiler and bold red ACR stripes. Performance parts such as the Extreme Aero Package and Carbon ceramic brakes come standard as does 1:28 Edition badging and decals with a serialized instrument panel. A color-matched cover with customer’s name above the door is also included on the 2017 model.

A Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR will also be available up to 100 units from Dodge. This variant is modeled after the classic white and blue paint scheme as seen on the 1998 Viper GTS-R GT2 Championship edition model. A bright Pearl White exterior with Blue Pearl GTS stripes adorn the body with its Extreme Aero Package while USA flags are worn by the B-pillars. A custom ACR interior, Carbon Ceramic brakes, and customer car cover will all come as part of the package.

On the rarer side of things, the Dodge Viper VooDoo II Edition ACR draws inspiration from the 2010 Viper VooDoo model. A limit of 31 models will be given the black exterior paint with graphite metallic ACR driver’s stripe and red tracer outline, and VooDoo II sill decals. Carbon Ceramic brakes, the Extreme Aero Package, and serialized instrument panel with matching car cover make this quite the intimidating American super car.

Limited to just 25 units is the Dodge Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC that takes after the 2010 Snakeskin ACR model. A venomous Snakeskin Green exterior with customized snakeskin patterned SRT stripe running down the middle and atop of the Advanced Aerodynamics package gives the super car an intimidating look. A GT black interior with serialized instrument panel and Snakesin badge sets it apart from your average Viper.

Rounding out the new limited edition 25th Anniversary models is the Dodge Dealer Edition ACR that will only be available through the highest-volume Viper dealerships. Only Tomball Dodge of Tomball Texas, and Roanoke Dodge of Roanoke, Illinois will offer the models. Limited to just 33 units, each Dodge Dealer Edition ACR will featured a Viper White exterior with Competition Blue center stripe and Adrenaline Red driver stripe, matched by an ACR interior with red accent stitching. Carbon Ceramic brakes, the Extreme Aero Package, and customized car cover will all come standard as well.

It’s hard to believe that 25 years ago the Viper story started and even harder to believe that the production is coming to an end. Hopefully this is just the end of a chapter in the Viper story and another is being written for the American super car so that one day it can capture the hearts and minds of enthusiasts around the globe. For now, these five limited edition anniversary models will have to do.
