G-Power BMW X6 M Typhoon S Exposed

Is it an SUV? Crossover? Coupe? Who cares? It has 725 horsepower!

BMW calls it a Sports Activity Coupe. To G-Power it’s another opportunity to go even faster and look damn good while doing it. The BMW X6 M is already a powerhouse, packing a 555-horsepower twin-turbo V-8, a precise suspension (for a crossover/SUV), and blistering acceleration. But after the engineers at G-Power work their magic, the BMW X6 M transforms into a 700+ horsepower Typhoon.

The stock BMW X6 is already a unique automobile. Stepping up to the M-model makes it even more conspicuous. But if you’re really looking to turn heads, the G-Power X6 M Typhoon S is for you. The German-based tuner has designed the bodywork after the flashy downforce-inducing G-Power Typhoon widebody kit. The new kit gives the X6 M Typhoon S a more aggressive face with larger air intakes that help to reduce lift at the front axle. Above the engine is a new carbon fiber hood that uses a Venturi-effect vent flanked by two ABS grilles to improve engine cooling. All four fenders are broadened, displaying the added power that lies under the hood. At the rear, the kit is rather subtle. Instead of large spoilers and flagrant bodywork, the rear sports a carbon fiber diffuser that helps keep the rear planted at high speeds.

Inside of those muscular fenders are equally tough wheels. In order to handle the immense power, G-Power has optioned for their stronger forged three-piece Silverstone RS wheels, measuring 11 x 23 up front and 12 x 23 at the rear. Optionally, customers can equip the X6 M Typhoon S with the same wheels in a 22-inch diameter. G-Power has also teamed up with Michelin to use their high-performance tires, measuring 315/25 ZR 23 for additional grip. The fitment is rounded off with a set of G-Power sport springs that lower the ride height by 30 mm.

Under the hood is where the real magic happens. The 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that makes a stout 555-horsepower and 500 lb-ft. of torque is pushed even farther, creating a violent storm of sheer power. Due to the larger vents and air intakes at the front bumper and hood the engine’s cooling performance is improved by 15 percent, allowing for engineers to retune the engine management system. G-Power has also fitted a new stainless steel (or titanium) exhaust system with a flow-optimized manifold and sports catalytic converters to reduce backpressure. The channels between the turbochargers and cylinder heads have also been optimized for an improved throttle response. The result is 725 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 656 lb-ft. at just 1,500 RPM; a power increase of 170 hp and 156 lb-ft. of torque! As an option, customers can opt for 738 lb-ft. of torque after reinforcing the transmission. With the full potential of the V-8 unleashed, the X6 M Typhoon S can accelerate to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of over 186 mph.

If the looks and power aren’t enough, G-Power can also tailor the entire interior to customer specification with an array of handmade leather and alcantara.

The G-Power BMW X6 M Typhoon S is currently available as an entire package. Additionally, individual accessories are also available with the Typhoon S aerodynamic package starting at € 6,990.00 (+/- 9,800 USD) excluding installation. The wheel and tire set is available for € 8,865.55 (+/- 12,500 USD), while the 725 horsepower package begins at € 13,526.05 (+/- 19,000 USD) excluding installation and titanium exhaust option.
