Pure hybrid fun.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is one upcoming hybrid hypercars to get excited about. It’s packed with a high-output naturally aspirated engine paired up with two electric motors that take things a step further and it’s all designed for performance.

The 4.6-liter high-revving V-8 engine spits out a thundering 608 horsepower, giving it the highest output per liter of displacement of any Porsche naturally aspirated engine with 132 hp per liter. Then, a pair of electric motors with a combined 286 horsepower output sit at the front axle and allow for hybrid all-wheel drive. In total, the output is a whopping 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft. of torque, allowing the 918 Spyder to reach 62 mph in as little as 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 213 mph.

There are five different driving modes including the hot lap function that alter everything from the engines to the seven-speed PDK to provide efficiency, performance, or both.

It’s one hybrid hypercar that has us eager to see the green revolution.
