Gulf Racing at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans

Endurance racing in orange and blue.

Gulf Oil has given us some of the most iconic racing liveries in racing history starting with the Porsche 917 and Ford GT40. At the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, the Gulf Racing Middle East team entered two cars in the LMP2 class in search of the checkered flag.

The team entered two Lola B12/80 chassis powered by Nissan VK45DE 4.5L V8 engines in the 2012 race wearing numbers 28 and 29. In qualifying the teams were able to achieve 32nd and 45th positions overall, and 18th and 20th in the LMP2 class. Unfortunately, both teams were forced to retire early and finished 50th and 56th, respectively.

Even though they were forced to end early, Clashproduction was able to give us an exciting look inside the two racing teams as they battled throughout the day.
