Hennessey Performance Supercharges the new Cadillac Escalade

HPE550 Cadillac Escalade

A sleeper of an SUV.

Cadillac just recently launched their new, fourth-generation Escalade and its starting to hit the streets everywhere. The SUV isn’t known for its overall performance and instead makes a name for itself with luxury and style. Hennessey Performance wanted to give the American luxury SUV a bit of a punch so they designed a new HPE500 supercharger upgrade program that turns it into quite the luxury sleeper.

“The new 2015 Cadillac Escalade is the perfect platform for a Hennessey infusion of horsepower,” said Founder and President John Hennessey. “It’s luxurious, spacious and cries out for personalization and more performance. I plan on making this our next family hauler for our five teenagers and four Labrador Retrievers.”

The 6.2-liter GM EcoTec3 V-8 engine makes a healthy 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft. of torque in stock form, but the HPE550 upgrade was able to increase those numbers by 32- and 18-percent, respectively thanks to forcing more air into the engine. A belt-driven supercharger dials up 6.0 PSI of boost pressure and leads to a total of 557 bhp at 5,500 RPM and 542 lb-ft. of torque at 4,200 RPM for the Escalade. A new air-to-water intercooler system keeps temperatures regulated during the process and a HPE engine management system keeps that air-to-fuel ratio in the sweet spot.

In addition to the new HPE550 supercharged engine upgrade, the new Cadillac Escalade can be outfitted with a new set of monoblock, 20-inch forged wheels that can be fitted with the factory tires and reduce weight at the wheel hub. A serial numbered dashboard plaque and engine cover differentiates the Escalade as well as Hennessey and HPE550 supercharged badging.

The new HPE550 upgrade is currently available for the new Cadillac Escalade and other GM models with the 6.2-liter D1 V-8 engine such as the the 2015 GMC Yukon Denali, 2014-2015 GMC Sierra, and 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado. All of the vehicles can be purchased through Hennessey Performance or their authorized dealers. The HPE550 package is priced at $15,950, installed, and comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, while the forged wheels are priced at $6,950 per set.
