The Inden Design SLS AMG Roadster “Borrasca” Packs some Thunder and Lightning

Storming through the streets.

It may not be the best idea to drive the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster with the top down during the rain or nasty weather; that is unless your car is nicknamed “Borrasca”. Meaning storm in Spanish, the new Inden Design SLS AMG “Borrasca” is bringing thunder and lightning to the streets with its high-powered AMG engine, new body work, and tuned chassis.

One of the goals for the team at Inden Design was to create a new aerodynamically-optimized body kit that did not take away from the super car’s original shape and design. The Inden Design developed new components such as a new carbon fiber bumper bar and spoiler lip combo at the front of the SLS AMG Roadster “Borrasca”, while a new lightweight hood covers the engine and aids with cooling. Each side of the SLS AMG wears a new set of front fenders with carbon fiber inserts and black blades for a more dynamic aesthetic while side skirts with an integrated rear air inlet visually lowers the super car. At the rear is a new apron and diffuser set that aids with keeping the rear axle planted on the asphalt at high speeds.

Under the new, ventilated hood of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster “Borrasca” is a modified 6.2-liter V-8 engine packing quite a bit of thunder. The Inden Design team upgraded the engine and added a new stainless steel sports exhaust system with controllable flaps that uses the factory AMG tips, to let out a fierce roar. In total, the Inden Design SLS AMG “Borrasca” produces a whopping 635 horsepower, up from the factory 583 ponies.

Tying the body work and roaring V-8 together is a newly modified chassis that’s built to handle the twisties in style. A set of in-house ten double-spoke light alloy wheels in a 10.5 x 21 front and 11.5 x 21 rear setup complement the dynamic body work of the super car. For better grip, Inden Design equipped the front axle with 265/30/21 Continental tires and the rear with a pair of 295/25/21s. The final touch for the SLS AMG “Borrasca” is chassis lowered by about 15 mm for a better center of gravity.

The new Inden Design Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster “Borrasca” is currently available as a complete upgrade package or customers can purchase individual accessories. Just make sure you bring an umbrella for the storm.
