The new Porsche 911 Turbo S: when the Turbo just isn’t enough.

Powering the flagship 911 is the twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine. The two exhaust gas turbochargers utilize variable turbine geometry (VTG) which virtually eliminates turbo lag, resulting in an exceptional throttle response. Power is increased by 30 bhp over the standard 911 Turbo, to 530 bhp. Torque is boosted to 516 lb-ft. and is available from 2,100 to 4,250 RPM, allowing for a meaty powerband. Dynamic engine mounts are standard on the Turbo S, and are electronically controlled to provide optimum stiffness depending on the driving style. Although the Turbo S benefits from a performance increase, it does not suffer from an increase in fuel consumption, achieving a combined 24.8 mpg.

Performance of the 997.2 Turbo S is nothing short of astonishing, accelerating to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and reaching 124 mph in just 10.8 seconds. Acceleration on the highway is effortless, as the Turbo S sprints from 50 to 75 mph in just two seconds. Top speed is a whopping 196 mph for both the Coupé and Cabriolet models.
