Ready for the ‘Ring.

The new BMW M235i may not be a “true” M-car but it has some fantastic upgrades that make it one of the more desirable driver’s cars in the BMW model lineup. Its smaller size, nimble handling, and 300+ horsepower output make it the perfect starting point for those looking to log some heavy minutes on the race track. The folks at RS-Racingteam have the perfect upgrade program for the track enthusiast with their new BMW RS/M235i Green Hell Edition that is race-prepped and ready-to-go.

The new Green Hell Edition upgrade package from RS-Racingteam starts out on the inside with the focus being on weight and safety. The RS/M235i sees much of its interior fabric such as the floor mats removed and the floor pans painted matte black while the cable harnesses that run throughout the cabin and dashboard have been wrapped up. Each of the door panels were removed and replaced with carbon fiber units to save weight. Both of the front seats in the BMW RS/M235i Green Hell Edition were replaced with lightweight shell-type seats using six-point safety harnesses. For safety, a full fuel cell system and roll cage were installed while the rear seats were removed to save weight and make room. Inside the passenger area sits a fire extinguisher for safety as well.

Just like with many racers, it isn’t all about power. The RS-Racingteam BMW RS/M235i Green Hell Edition can be fitted with performance-oriented BBS or ATS wheels in 18-inch diameters with a variety of colors equipped with Michelin semi-slick tires. In addition, customers can opt for an extra set of 18-inch wheels with 225- and 245-size street or rain tires. Behind the racing wheels sits a KW coilover chassis that offers more nimble handling and a braking system with stainless steel flex lines, race-spec fluid, and Ferodo motorsport brake pads.

The BMW RS/M235i Green Hell Edition also looks the part. The hood is kept shut with lockable clasps, while modified air inlets for the braking system sit below. In case of an accident, tow hooks are featured at the front and rear to make things a bit easier. For some added downforce, the rear boasts a GFK wing sitting atop aluminum arms. Covering things up is a new “RS-Wrapping” with special BMW M striping across the front bumper and rear fenders.

In terms of engine upgrades, the RS-Racingteam wanted to focus on improving reliability and ensure the drivetrain could handle the stresses from the track. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six was given new motorsport brackets along with the transmission. The engine also benefits from a stainless steel Supersprint exhaust system. As an option, customers can also purchase power upgrades for the engine tailored to each individual car.

All of the BMW RS/M235i Green Hell Edition models will be offered with an array of additional upgrades such as differential coolers, electrical shut-offs, etc. other than the aforementioned basic package from RS-Racingteam. The basic package will start at 57,800 Euros including 19-percent VAT.
