A few mods make for a fun drive.

Sometimes the all-out engine rebuilds, forced induction upgrades, and hardcore carbon fiber outfits can be a bit much and take away from the DNA of the vehicle they’re installed on, which is why this simple and straightforward SLS AMG Roadster by Senner Tuning is just a superb super car. The German tuner didn’t swing for the fences with a new carbon fiber suit, 1,000-horsepower engine, or race car setup; they just installed a few goodies to make the Mercedes-Benz a joy to drive.

Starting things off is a power bump for the handmade 6.2-liter V-8 engine. A stainless steel exhaust that utilizes a backpressure monitoring system and valve flaps with four different modes to alter the engine sound was installed along with a new ECU tune and high-performance air filters to boost output by 35 hp and 30 lb-ft. of torque for a total of 606 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of torque.

The design of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster offers plenty of aerodynamic efficiency from the factory so Senner Tuning focused on improving the chassis for a bit more agility and style. A KW Variant 3 coilover suspension with aluminum housing offers a lower ride height as well as adjustable compression and rebound for a more dynamic ride. The factory AMG wheels were removed in place of new Schmidt Gotham aluminum alloy wheels with a titanium grey finish in a 9.0 x 20 front and 11.5 x 21 rear fitment with 255/30R20 and 295/25R21 Hankook S1 Evo tires.

The Senner Tuning Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster may not be the fastest, most powerful, or stylish, but it doesn’t take away from what the super car is and adds just enough fun to enjoy driving with the top down.
