The new Novitec Alfa Romeo Giulietta is one Hot Hatch

A red-hot Italian five-door.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is something that won’t be coming over to the United States anytime soon. We’ve been anxiously awaiting a return of Alfa Romeo, but FIAT doesn’t appear to be planning on bringing over the Italian brand for a few years at least. So, this one is for all of our European fans. Besides, we’d have a hard time pronouncing Giulietta (joo-lee-etta).

Novitec Automobile GmbH, the Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Abarth tuning specialists under the Novitec umbrella have unveiled a new engine, aero, and chassis program for the sporty five-door hatch.

Each of the three gasoline and diesel engines in the Novitec Giulietta can be upgraded with a simple and inexpensive plug-and-play tuning module. The 120 horsepower 1.4 TB 16V gets bumped up to 141 horsepower and the 1.4-liter MultiAir goes from 170 hp to 195 hp with the Novitec PowerJet 2 plug-and-play module. In the more powerful 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, output increases by 26 horsepower to 261 hp and 285 lb-ft. of torque, allowing the Giulietta to accelerate to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 156 mph (251 km/h).

For the line of diesel engines, Novitec developed a plug-and-play PowerRail5 module to increase power. The 1.6 JTD 16V gains a modest 15 horses with the module. The 140 horsepower variant of the 2.0 JTD 16V can be increased to 160 horsepower with the Giulietta tuning program, while the 170 horsepower 2.0 JTD 16V receives a boost to 195 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque. Along with each diesel or gasoline engine, customers can also choose to install Novitec stainless steel sport rear mufflers with two or four tailpipes for a deeper sound.

To go along with the upgraded power, Novitec has designed an aerodynamic package for the Novitec Giulietta tuning program. The front gains new left and right spoiler corners and a center cup spoiler that attaches to the stock bumper and increase downforce. Each side appears lower thanks to new side skirts, while the rear features a new diffuser-look fascia with exhaust cutouts.

The package can be completed with new suspension and wheel upgrades for the Novitec Giulietta. Customers can choose between sport springs that reduce ride height by 35 mm or a stainless steel coilover suspension system with a 35-75 mm adjustable ride height and damper rates. Along with the suspension, Novitec offers alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches in diameter. The featured wheels are 20-inch Novitec N10 wheels in either silver or matte black. The wheels measure 8.5 x 20 and wear 235/50 R20 Pirelli P Zero tires.

The Novitec Giulietta tuning program can be purchased as a whole or as individual accessories. The PowerJet 2 module can be purchased for € 419 (+/- 600 USD), and the PowerRail 5 is € 335 (+/- 485 USD). The left and right front spoilers are priced at € 167 (+/- 242 USD), the cup spoiler at € 83 (+/- 120 USD), the side skirts at € 234 (+/- 340 USD), and the rear fascia at € 167 (+/- 242 USD). All components are currently available.
