Taken to the extreme.

The BMW M235i is quite a fun car in stock form, but the motto that Tuningwerk goes by is ‘That one who is satisfied with the best, is a man of simple very simple taste!’ The BMW tuning specialists have very simple taste and that is shown with their new BMW M235i RS.

The BMW M235i RS by Tuningwerk has all the tools necessary to lap the Hockenheimring race track in 1 minute and 11 seconds. The 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine benefits from a new spark plugs with a higher heat value, upgraded air intake, ECU tune, and more to increase output to 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft. of torque. Tuningwerk also beefed up the cooling system with an additional oil cooler, heat exchanger, 850-watt fan, and coolant. Showing off that power comes through the new stainless steel axle-back exhaust with valve control, tailpipes, and additional flex pipe. The BMW M235i RS also quick on its feet with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.3 seconds and 15.4-second 0-120 mph time. If that’s not enough, Tuningwerk can install a larger turbocharger for even more boost.

All of that new power running through the six-speed manual required some beefed up components. The oil pan was modified to prevent scraping and allow for more area beneath the sports car. The M235i RS was also fitted with a new single-mass flywheel and sports clutch to handle all 444 horsepower.

Power is controlled and put to the road thanks to a new set of forged wheels, new brakes, and some suspension bits. Stiffening the body of the BMW M235i RS can be improved by the team at Tuningwerk along with new struts and Uniball axle elements help to sharpen up handling. Controlling that power is the job of the new Brembo six-piston front calipers with 350 x 34 mm steel racing discs while BMW Performance brakes are installed on the rear paired up with stainless steel flex lines and modified DSC/ABS electronics. Hiding all of those upgrades are new Tuningwerk steel forged wheels in an 8.5 x 18 (15.7 lbs.) front and 9.0 x 18 (16.3 lbs.) rear setup with 235/40 R18 and 265/35 R18 Dunlop SportMaxx RT tires.

With the Tuningwerk BMW M235i RS being built for performance on the track, the factory aerodynamics had to be tweaked a bit. Here, the German tuner installed a new TW Design carbon fiber front lip, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler to generate more downforce for better stability at high speeds, and braking and handling performance.

Inside, driver engagement, safety, and weight were the main areas of focus. Tuningwerk equipped the BMW M235i RS with a new pair of Recaro Pole Position front seats on some modified seat rails with six-point harnesses. A new roll cage also helps to protect the driver and passenger from injuries in the event of an accident. All this adds up to an overall dry weight of just 3,131 lbs.

The new Tuningwerk BMW M235i RS is currently available as a complete conversion for the track-day enthusiast. Customers can also order individual accessories for their BMW M235i models as well. All of this can be had for 65,000 Euros.
