Two hypercar heavyweights battle it out.

In the super-exclusive hypercar game, two cars stand out from the rest: the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and the Koenigsegg Agera R. The two cars pack over 1,000 horsepower and 200+ mph top speeds with instant acceleration that makes supercars look slow.

They’re designated as ‘hypercars’ for a reason. The Bugatti sports a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine with 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft. of torque for a crazy 0-60 mph time of 2.4 seconds and a limited top speed of 258 mph (due to tires). Its Swedish counterpart, the Koenigsegg Agera R packs a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine producing 1,140 horsepower and 884.96 lb-ft. of torque, sending the car to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and an approximate top speed of 273 mph (if the tires allow).

So, the Bugatti appears to be the fastest on paper, but who’s the fastest on the asphalt? Well, the guys at GTBoard lined the two up on the drag strip for four races and the results are pretty interesting.
