Want to know something that’s going to really irritate the heck out of you if you bought a 997 911 Turbo? The new Porsche 991 Carrera S is faster around the Nurburgring.

Nana-nana-boo-boo.

But in all seriousness, that’s really impressive. It may not be as fast as the controversial participants in the battle between the Corvette ZR-1, Nissan GT-R, and 911 GT2 as they tried to break the 7:25 mark years ago, but it’s a huge improvement for one of the “standard” 911 models and shows the incredible advancements made in the new 991-generation compared to the 997 and 997.2 models.

For all of you on-paper-racers out there, the new 911 Carrera S boasts a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with 400 horsepower and 324 lb-ft. of torque, with 0-62 mph acceleration times of just 4.1 seconds. The sports car was driven by professional racer, Timo Kluck, and achieved a lap time of just 7:37.9.

Now let’s just get that new 991 Turbo, GT3, and GT2 out there on the ‘Ring!
