Twin-turbo German hammer.

The GoldRush Rally is speeding around the United States and stopping in big cities to show off their stuff. It’s an automotive super car spectacle that is fun to see and even more exciting to participate in. One of the cars making the cross-country trip is the RENNtech Mercedes-AMG GT S and it’s packed with all sorts of goodies that will surely grab a whole lot of attention.

The already potent hand-built AMG 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine was given a pretty hefty boost in power thanks to RENNtech, starting with the Stage 1 turbocharger upgrade. A new blow-off valve, high-flow air filter, and stainless steel downpipes with 200-cell catalytic converter complete the hardware modifications. Afterwards, a RENNtech ECU software tune makes them all work together in harmony and create a whopping 716 horsepower and 656 lb-ft. of torque. That’s more than enough to fly from city to city during the GoldRush Rally.

With 716 horsepower on tap, triple-digit speeds are the norm for the RENNtech Mercedes-AMG GT S, and that’s where the new Prototype Aero kit comes into play. RENNtech designed a new kit that generates downforce and improves stability to make cruising over 100-mph a breeze. Up front, the Mercedes-AMG GT S boasts an extended front splitter that wraps around both front air intakes for better cooling. New side skirt blades channel air away from the rear wheels for lower drag, while a new carbon fiber diffuser with integrated exhaust tips keeps the rear stable. Finishing it all off is a massive DTM-style adjustable spoiler wing that allows drivers to dial in the perfect amount of downforce.

But RENNtech wasn’t finished there with the creation of a true GoldRush Rally monster. A new set of three-piece forged wheels with a ten-spoke, concave depth and step-lip design was installed in a staggered 10.0 x 20 front and 11.5 x 21 rear setup. Each wheel sports a vibrant Brushed Red Barrel with fine-textured spokes to provide some serious contrast to the body. The fitment also benefits from a new coilover suspension that allows drivers to adjust a variety of factors to create the perfect ride quality.
