Aston Martin Cygnet production announced

The new Aston Martin city car gets the green light.

We here at MotoringExposure love our Aston Martins for their beauty, performance, and luxury. The newest model from the British automaker however, has us scratching our heads a bit. In an effort to provide a compact option with lower carbon emissions for their customers, Aston Martin has decided to go ahead with plans to produce the Cygnet. The compact city car is based on the Toyota iQ, and will likely use the 1.33-liter inline-4 that produces 97 horsepower. Although no mechanical modifications will be made, for a hefty price Aston Martin will custom-tailor the Cygnet with a virtually limitless selection of materials, colors, and textures.

The new Aston Martin Cygnet will be put into production in 2011. Pricing will be released at a later date.

We here at MotoringExposure think that Alistair Weaver describes the new Aston Martin Cygnet the best. Check out his video from Edmunds InsideLine.
