Celebrating 50 years with a new wrap.
One of the most distinct liveries in the motorsport world is the light powder blue and vibrant orange from Gulf Oil. The color combo has been worn by famous and triumphant racers in the past and is now worn by the Aston Martin Vantage GT2, Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, and McLaren MP4-12C GT3. One of the most memorable racers to wear the Gulf Oil livery was the Porsche 917K and to celebrate 50 years of the Porsche 911, Cam Shaft Premium Wrapping has installed the livery on a 997 911 Turbo.
The 911 Turbo by Cam Shaft sets itself apart from other Porsches and exotic cars with its unique looks, and will surely grab the attention of any motorsport fan. The orange and blue wrap with Gulf Oil logos on the hood, doors, and rear was installed on the entire car, with the door sills and visible edges being treated as an option. The wrap is meticulously installed to remove and prevent any imperfections that can arise during installation.
Wearing the Gulf Oil livery is a bold statement in the automotive world, and the Cam Shaft team has ensured that it’s backed up by a significant improvement in performance. The team at 9ff installed a number of modifications to the 3.6-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. The exhaust system was fully replaced from the headers to the sport catalytic converters, a larger intercooler was installed, the air intake was modified for greater airflow, and the fuel pressure regulator was upgraded. All of the new components are tied together with the engine through a new ECU tune, which pushes the power up to a total of 650 horsepower and torque was limited to 590 lb-ft. This enables the 911 Turbo to accelerate to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds, go from 62 mph to 124 mph in 6.0 seconds, and speed from 62 mph to 186 mph in just 20.3 seconds.
In addition to the engine modifications, the 911 Turbo was given a new set of OZ-Ultraleggera wheels, a Bilstein height-adjustable suspension, and bucket seats for the interior, while a total of 143 lbs. was removed.
The Cam Shaft Porsche 911 Turbo in Gulf Racing livery can be purchased for 2,800 Euros for the standard wrap while the additional door sills and visible edges can be wrapped for an additional 700 Euros.
