“30 Years M3”

In the summer of 1986, a car was launched that ignited passion and fire in automotive enthusiasts’ hearts and minds. Motorsports technology was available for the street in the form of the BMW M3, and has since become the benchmark for which all other sports cars are measured. Its driver-oriented characteristics, everyday usability, and superb performance make it a true favorite 30 years later.

The same DNA that was seen in the first E30-generation BMW M3 that rolled off the line in 1986 is still proudly on display today even through five generations of evolution. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original, BMW has announced a limited run of 500 “30 Years M3” special edition models available this summer, globally.

The performance also gets an added boost on the “30 Years M3” models. Thanks to the bump in power, the models equipped with the 7-speed M double clutch gearbox accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 4.0 seconds – 0.1 seconds faster than the standard model. The special edition models with the six-speed manual also make the same sprint 0.1 seconds faster than their stock counterparts as well.
