G-Power SK Plus Supercharger System Exposed

After building a 230-mph M6, G-Power is back to give the Z4 and M3 some boost.

Over 1,000 different vehicles have seen an increase in performance thanks to the SK Plus supercharger system from G-Power, the most notable being the 231.15-mph M5 Hurricane RR. That same technology that propelled the M5 to set a top speed record has been redeveloped and found its way into the BMW E85 Z4 and E46 3 Series, resulting in a thrilling driving experience.

The new G-Power SK Plus supercharger system has been developed mostly from scratch over a period of over 12 months and undergone numerous driving and durability tests with the 3.0-liter inline-six found in the 330i and Z4 3.0i. G-Power has developed the system using only the highest quality materials and manufacturing process. Lightweight cast aluminum was chosen for the supercharger mounting plate and complete air ducting, while all components made from sheet metal are CNC laser-cut from non-corroding materials. The experience gained from previously supercharging systems has allowed G-Power to also reduce the number of parts in the SK Plus “Sporty Drive” system.

The new G-Power SK Plus “Sporty Drive” system uses an ASA OE-quality radial supercharger like previous G-Power BMW vehicles. For this application, G-Power has chosen a new ASA T3-313 supercharger that features optimized geometry, allowing for a more efficient build-up of boost. This also helps the system to achieve a sharp throttle response without the lag associated with traditional turbocharged engines. The supercharger also provides a wide power band with maximum torque of 254 lb-ft. is at only 3,500 RPM and 286 horsepower at 6,000 RPM when the maximum boost pressure of 0.3 BAR is achieved. This helps both models achieve a 0-62 mph sprint of just 5.4 seconds.

In addition to the supercharger system, G-Power also offers wheel, suspension, and exhaust options to make the 330i and Z4 3.0i a complete package. Both models can be fitted with G-Power’s 20-inch Silverstone Diamond wheels shod in Michelin 245/30 ZR 20 front and 285/25 ZR 20 rear rubber. G-Power can also install the GZ4-RS coil-over suspension with nine-way adjustable compression and rebound to further improve handling and high=speed stability. For customers that want to give their 330i or Z4 an unforgettable exhaust note G-Power’s rear sport muffler is available. The silencer is hand-made and uses “Deeptone” technology to create a strong bass note at low engine speeds that is amplified as the revs rise.

The G-Power SK Plus “Sporty Drive” supercharger system along with the additional performance components is currently available. The supercharger system starts at € 2,500 (+/- 3,300 USD) with TÜV Certification. Wheels are available for € 4,422 (+/- 5,800 USD) for the Z4 and € 3,554 (+/- 4,700 USD) for the 330i. The suspension upgrade is available for € 1,155 (+/- 1,500 USD), and the exhausts are available for € 1,189 (+/- 1,500 USD) for the Z4 and € 953 (+/- 1,200 USD) for the 330i. All prices do not include installation.
