German Special Customs Gets Bad and Boxy with the Mercedes-Benz G400 CDI

Making the off-road classic even better.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV has been a mainstay off-road machine that has developed a luxurious taste throughout the decades it was produced. Aside from its high-end interior tastes, not much has changed and it still remains as capable and as boxy as ever. German Special Customs is making the SUV a boxy brute with its new customized aerodynamics program shown on this G400 CDI that transforms it from top-to-bottom.

The new aerodynamics kit for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class starts out with a new, larger front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights running beneath the headlights and at the bottom of each side of the bumper. The new unit also protrudes outwards and down with its massive air intakes and creates a more commanding road presence, especially when combined with the new carbon fiber spoiler lip. Atop the bumper setup sits a new carbon fiber hood with vents and a large power dome to show that the G-Class is large and in charge.

Each side of the G-Class are newly extended fenders and carbon side mirrors that emphasize power and brute force. German Special Customs connects them with a pair of side skirts that integrate dual trapezoidal stainless steel side exhausts prior to the rear wheel arches. At the rear, the boxy shape is improved upon with a new bumper with diffuser-look and air vents that lower the ride height visually. A large carbon fiber spare wheel cover replaces the factory unit for some sportier looks.

The complete exterior package for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is finished off with a hulking set of German Special Customs forged wheels. The in-house, seven-spoke Jura wheels measure 10.0 x 22 at the front and rear with 305/40 R22 tires or can be uprated to an even larger 23-inch diameter if owners so choose.

Inside, German Special Customs can give the off-road box an even more refined interior for those long treks across the desert or across the asphalt to the shopping mall. All of the seats can be trimmed in a custom array of leather and/or alcantara with unique stitching patters along with the roof and pillars. Carbon fiber trim pieces add a touch of sportiness to the cabin while front and rear infotainment systems add to the overall custom-tailored touch.

All of the upgrades featured on the Mercedes-Benz G400 CDI can be purchased for all G-Class models as an entire package or individual accessories.
