“Racing in the Street: Group C Porsche 962” – Video

Being able to drive a Porsche racing legend on the road.

The Porsche 962 is a racing icon, not just for Porsche, but all of motorsports due to its incredible success in the late-‘70s and early-‘80s. While most of the cars are limited to car collections and museums, a few are actually street-legal and are enjoyed by their owners.

One of these incredible machines is owned by an enthusiast in Japan who bought the car after witnessing its domination 30 years ago. The 962C featured in the beautiful Motor-Head magazine film by Luke Huxham of Maiham-Media, wears the classic Rothmans livery and is just the second car of its kind that Porsche built as a concept, featuring all of the racing components from the 962 and 956 cars to make it one-of-a-kind. The race car is powered by a 630 PS+ twin-turbocharged, 2.65-liter, flat-six engine, but according to Professional Drive, Yasuo Miyagawa, “may not have a monstrous amount of power and torque.”

Here are some specs on the one-of-a-kind street-legal race car:

Engine: 2.65l flat-six twin-turbo/Type 935/82
