Where a simple tune goes a long way.

The McLaren MP4-12C is a brilliant supercar. It’ fast, technologically advanced, and can perform very well on the racetrack. It’s 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged engine is packed with potential and a simple tune from the folks at Hennessey Performance was enough to give it 704 horsepower compared to the factory 616 horsepower.

That translates to some pretty impressive performance. The new HPE700 program for the MP4-12C includes an ECU tune, intercooler upgrade, dual air induction filters, and stainless steel exhaust for a total of 704 horsepower at 7,500 RPM and 538 lb-ft. of torque at 5,800 RPM. This enables the supercar to accelerate to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and go through the quarter-mile in 10.3 seconds at 137 mph.

So how fast is that compared to a stock McLaren MP4-12C? About eight car lengths at 160 mph according to the video.
