ECU Boost.
The top-dog in the Porsche lineup is the 911 Turbo. It’s forced-induction and all-wheel drive make it a brutally powerful supercar that is capable of reaching triple-digit speeds with ease. The new 991-generation 911 Turbo takes performance to a new level with its 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine and TechArt was more than happy to tap into its potential.
The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine sitting at the rear of the 991 Porsche 911 Turbo puts down an astounding 520 horsepower and 487 lb-ft. of torque and up to 524 lb-ft. with overboost. That’s overshadowed by its Turbo S sibling and its 560 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque and 553 lb-ft. with overboost. With the new TechArt Power Kit TA 091/T1, that’s no longer the case as the output for the 911 Turbo grows considerably.
The TechArt Power Kit TA 091/T1 focuses on optimizing the engine management system and is activated by pushing the Sport- or Sport Plus buttons on the center console. When these buttons are not activated, the system reverts back to the factory engine management system and does not affect electronic engine protection features of vehicle diagnostics and servicing.
The TechArt Power Kit TA 091/T1 increases output by 60 horsepower and 96 lb-ft. of torque for a total of 580 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 583 lb-ft. of torque from 2,500 to 5,000 RPM. With overboost, the torque figure rises up to 620 lb-ft. from 2,800 to 4,200 RPM.
The perfect partner to the TechArt Power Kit TA 091/T1 is a new TechArt exhaust system sport with valve control. The exhaust system includes a pair of valves that can be automatically or manually controlled to alter the volume of the flat-six engine, and end in stainless steel dual oval tailpipes with gloss chrome or matte black finishes.
To help the Porsche 911 Turbo grab at the pavement with the added power, TechArt offers up Formula IV Race forged center-locking wheels that are weight optimized for better overall performance. The new five twin-spoke wheels can be fitted to the 911 Turbo, 911 Turbo S, or 911 GT3 and measure 9.0 x 20 ET 46 up front on the Turbo and 12.0 x 20 ET 58 at the rear, wearing either titanium grey or a polished face finish.
All these goodies mean break-neck acceleration figures for both the 911 Turbo Coupe and Cabriolet. The 911 Turbo Coupe scoots to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds from rest with Sport Plus and 124 mph in a mere 9.8 seconds. Top speed is all the way back at 202 mph. The drop-top 911 Turbo Cabriolet can do the same sprints in 3.0- and 10.3 seconds, respectively and still reach 202 mph.
The new TechArt Power Kit TA 091/T1 comes standard with a two-year limited warranty as well as an additional warranty on engine and gearbox damage.
