TechArt Recalls the 1970s with the new 991 911 Carrera 4S

Bringing Emerald Green all all-wheel drive to Geneva.

Although the 1970s didn’t see the use of all-wheel drive systems in the 911, TechArt is looking to bring the past back to the 83rd International Geneva Motor Show with the Emerald Green 991 911 Carrera 4S. The classic color will be adorning the new upgrade program for the 991 Carrera 4 models and be accompanied by the premieres of TechArt nose-lift and exhaust systems.

The most eye-catching aspect of the new TechArt 991 Carrera 4S is the vibrant Emerald Green paint color that was worn by the 911 in the 1970s. The paint pays tribute to the vintage 911 models and covers the aerodynamically-designed TechArt body kit. The front of the kit features a two-piece front spoiler with integrated splitter that reduces lift by 11 lbs (5 kg). A new set of aero wings are also integrated into the front air intakes and lend the 911 a more dynamic appearance. New headlight trims, a set of side skirts, and side mirrors provide a visual upgrade for the four-wheel drive sports car. At the rear, TechArt installed their Rear Spoiler II and Diffuser that work together to generate 38.6 lbs. (17.5 kg) of downforce and up to 167.6 lbs. (76 kg) of downforce at top speed.

While the Emerald Green paint covers the TechArt 911 Carrera 4S with excitement, a set of contrasting TechArt Formula III forged wheels are worn on both axles and contrast the vibrant paint. Customers will be able to order the TechArt Formula III five twin-spoke wheels as well as five-spoke TechArt Formula wheels in 20- and 21-inch sizes in a variety of custom colors and finishes, and are 15-percent lighter than cast wheels. The featured wheels on the 991 Carrera 4S were given a glossy black finish with Emerald Green outline. Behind the wheels at the front axle will be the new TechArt Noselift system that raises the front axle by 60 mm hydraulically at rest or at speeds under 60 km/h at the press of a button in the cockpit. Above this speed, the nose automatically lowers for safety. Due to the compact dimensions of the system, the front trunk space remains unchanged.

The 400-horsepower 3.8-liter flat-six engine featured in the 911 Carrera 4S benefits from the new TechArt Exhaust System Racing with valve controls and a dual, black chrome or polished oval-shaped center exhaust that mimics the design of the 911 GT3 RSR racing models. The valves can be controlled by a console-mounted sport button that opens the valves up to produce a throatier note. The valves can also be closed while driving to reduce the noise of the engine. New Sport end mufflers in Racing specification can also be installed with the new system and TechArt offers variants designed specifically for the 911 Carrera S models. As an option, customers can opt for a set of sport tailpipes on the factory exhaust systems.

The final touch on the featured Emerald Green 911 Carrera 4S is a redesigned interior that can also be applied to customer cars. TechArt installed their in-house three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters in leather and alcantara with green stitching. New green door sills, black leather and alcantara seats with green stitching, and black leather door panels with green stitching create a comfortable, sport-oriented atmosphere that mirrors the exterior color scheme.

The new TechArt Porsche 911 Carrera 4S and its new Nose Lift System and Exhaust System Racing will be on display at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show on March 5th along with its Emerald Green paint. All of the upgrades will be available from the German company in the near future.
