Dropping the top with over 800-HP.

The team at Wimmer RST in Slingen, Germany, know a thing or two about modifying engines and optimizing software, especially with forced induction. Even though winter is starting to hit, the horsepower addicts at Wimmer RST just finished their newest upgrade program for a vibrant orange Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.

The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine stuffed up the butt of the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet underwent some pretty significant modifications. The factory turbochargers were quickly swapped out for a new pair of Wimmer RST units along with new intercoolers and more aggressive sport camshafts. Specialists also worked on the engine’s hardware such as the cylinder head, pistons, and connecting rods to allow for improved airflow and performance. The fuel pump, intake manifold, and throttle valve were also adjusted to compensate for the new upgrades.

The Wimmer RST team then gave the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet a new high-pressure pump, Saeco tube kit for better flow, and a new BMC high-flow air filter to draw in more air with greater efficiency. A full Wimmer RST stainless steel exhaust with electronically-operated valves and dual 100-cell HJS catalytic converters emit a more aggressive note while cutting down on backpressure.

After a comprehensive software tune, the Wimmer RST Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet produces 852 horsepower (840 PS) and 634 lb-ft. of torque. This allows the drop-top monster to reach 62 mph in just 2.6 seconds and go from 0-124 mph in 8.4 seconds. Even more impressive is the fact that the 0-186 mph run takes just 17.9 seconds to complete. Top speed is all the way back at 226 mph for those that are daring enough.

While the focus for the Wimmer RST team was the engine, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet also got some style. The entire super car was wrapped in an eye-catching orange vinyl to make it stand out from the crowd, just in case the performance doesn’t. Additionally, a full KW Club Sport suspension was installed and the PDK transmission can be modified to handle the extra power as an option.
