G-Power unveils their latest-generation X6 M Typhoon

More widebody power!

G-Power has been making some serious horsepower monsters with their BMW M5/M6 Hurricane models. The X5 M and X6 M variants, named the ‘Typhoon’ give that same athleticism and performance in a bigger, badder package. The newest G-Power BMW X6 M Typhoon is more of the same good stuff from its widebody kit to its hardcore twin-turbocharged V-8 sitting under the hood.

From the start, the G-Power BMW X6 M Typhoon grabs attention with its powerful widebody kit. The entire Typhoon body kit has been in development for the past 12 months starting with a 3-D scan of the base vehicle to CAD designing, 1:1 modelling, and testing to ensure a precise and proper fitment.

The G-Power X6 M Typhoon features a large front fascia with vents that send 20-percent more air into the cooling elements. The bumper and spoiler combo reduces lift and make up the ‘dynamic venting’ system with the carbon fiber ‘Venturi’ hood with integrated air scoops to cool the engine.

The new front fascia perfectly flows into the extended front fenders of the G-Power X6 M Typhoon. A pair of side skirts visually lower the hardcore SUV and mesh with the flared rear fenders. The muscular rear end features a slim windshield spoiler and trunklid spoiler lip with a large underbody diffuser with 102-mm tailpipes.

Filling in those massive fenders is no easy task, but G-Power’s Hurricane RR lightweight forged wheels were up to the task. The massive 23-inch wheels are shod in 315/25 ZR23 tires in either Jet Black, Gun Metal Grey, or Stardust Silver colors with an optional Diamondcut finish. A new GX6M-RS coilover kit sharpens up handling even more.

The beefier looks are matched – or possibly even exceeded by the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine modified by G-Power. Both turbochargers have been upgraded with new turbine blades with capped ends as well as lighter, redesigned compressor wheels that spool up faster for improved throttle response and increased boost. A new G-Power flow-optimized sports exhaust system with sports catalytic converters and stainless steel downpipes with titanium tips reduce backpressure and allow for even more power to be created.

After the Bi-Tronik 2 V3 ECU remap, the G-Power X6 M Typhoon produces 750 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 723 lb-ft. of torque from 3,000 to 4,500 RPM. This allows the mighty SUV to reach a top speed in excess of 186 mph and blast through the quarter mile in only 11.5 seconds.
