McChip-DKR Gives the SLS AMG Black Series Even More Power

McChip-DKR Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

“Spiced up.”

The SLS 63 AMG Black Series is the king of all Mercedes-Benz models right now. It’s made to perform and has the numbers to prove it. The Black Series badge transforms the supercar into a violent and mean track star with all sorts of factory, motorsport-inspired upgrades pushing the car to its limit. While that’s more than enough for any good driver to handle, there are some that crave even more power, and that’s where the team at McChip-DKR steps in.

Underneath the front hood sits a fine-tuned, hand-built AMG 6.2-liter V-8 engine that has a whopping 622 horsepower and 468 lb-ft. of torque, without the aid of any form of forced induction. Although this naturally-aspirated monster has an incredible amount of power on tap, the team at McChip-DKR knew that there was still some untapped potential left in the tank.

The German chiptuning and software specialists went to work doing what they do best and were able to work their computer programming wizardry on the factory ECU of the SLS AMG Black Series. The Stage 1 tune optimizes the engine mapping from spark to fuel injection and results in not just more power, but better fuel economy as well, which isn’t a hallmark of the thirsty supercar. The result is a massive 654 horsepower and 478 lb-ft. of torque output. That’s an increase of 32 horsepower and 10 lb-ft. of torque with better fuel economy through a simple ECU tune.

The McChip-DKR Stage 1 tune for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series can be installed in one working day for 3,199 Euros by the German tuners.
