Starting a new page for the German tuner.

Throughout its history, G-Power has been known for its ability to tune and modify BMW vehicles, specifically with the use of compressor systems. Now, they’re trying their hand at BMW’s German rival: Mercedes-Benz, specifically the AMG models. The first victim of their performance upgrades is the S 63 AMG Coupe – a two-door rocketship that’s ripe with potential.

While the first foray into the AMG lineup isn’t overly extravagant with tons of upgrades, the ones that were installed made quite a big difference compared to the factory setup.

The 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine was the beneficiary of a new G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 V1 control module. The module gathers and analyzes data prior to it being sent to the factory ECU. The system then alters variables such as boost pressure, fuel delivery, ignition timing, and more when the engine reaches the optimal driving temperature. For reliability reasons, the system will shut down the performance gain when a maximum oil temperature is reached.

In total, the G-Power Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe generates a total of 695 horsepower at 5,250 RPM and 737 lb-ft. of torque at 2,250 RPM. That’s coupled with the removal of the top speed limiter, allowing the two-door luxury coupe to reach speeds in excess of 205 mph. Models equipped with the 4Matic all-wheel drive system can reach 62 mph from rest in just 3.8 seconds with the addition of the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 module.

The other area in which G-Power focused on was the wheel fitment. The featured Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG was equipped with a new set of lightweight 21-inch G-Power Hurricane RR forged wheels that help keep rotating mass minimized at the hub. The double-spoke wheels were equipped with 265/30 R21 front and 295/30 R21 rear Michelin performance tires for added grip.

Both of the G-Power upgrades are currently available for the rear- and all-wheel drive versions of the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe. The Bi-Tronik 5 V1 module and removal of the top speed limiter is priced at 6,898 Euros while the forged wheel and tire set is priced at 9,095 Euros.
